Anne Brigman

Anne Brigman (1869–1950) was an American photographer born above Honolulu and raised from her teens in California, where she settled in Oakland and began photographing in 1901. Within a few years she was recognized by Alfred Stieglitz, who made her a Member and later a Fellow of the Photo-Secession, the only one west of the Mississippi so honored, and reproduced her work in Camera Work.
