Paul Klee made art that made the invisible visible. Born in Switzerland in 1879, he trained in Munich under Franz von Stuck, then found his artistic voice through color during a 1914 trip to Tunisia—"Color has taken possession of me," he wrote. He co-founded the Blaue Reiter with Kandinsky and others, then taught at the Bauhaus from 1921 to 1931, where he developed influential theories of form and color.
