Naoko Takeuchi is a manga artist best known for creating Sailor Moon, one of the most influential manga series ever published. Born in Kofu in 1967, she studied pharmacy at Kyoritsu College and worked as a licensed pharmacist before pursuing comics full-time. She debuted in 1986 with "Love Call" in Nakayoshi magazine and achieved rapid success with "Codename: Sailor V" before launching Sailor Moon's serialization in 1991. The series became a cultural phenomenon, spawning anime adaptations, films, and global merchandising.
