アドルフ・モンティセリ

Adolphe Monticelli painted in Marseille and Paris during the generation before the Impressionists, developing a highly individual Romantic style marked by richly colored, glazed surfaces and scintillating effects. Trained under Paul Delaroche at the École des Beaux-Arts, he drew inspiration from the Old Masters, particularly Delacroix, and from Narcisse Diaz of the Barbizon school, adopting their practice of introducing figures into landscapes.
