フランチェスコ・サルヴィアーティ

Francesco Salviati (1510–1563), born Francesco de' Rossi in Florence, was a Mannerist painter whose energetic frescoes and portraits shaped the visual culture of sixteenth-century Italy. He trained under leading Florentine masters including Andrea del Sarto before moving to Rome in 1531, where he befriended Giorgio Vasari and absorbed the monumental style of Michelangelo and Raphael. Taking his surname from his patron Cardinal Giovanni Salviati, he worked across Rome, Florence, Bologna, and Venice, painting ambitious historical scenes and decorative cycles for palaces and churches.
