ベルト・モリゾ

Berthe Morisot painted the world she saw around her: domestic interiors, family gatherings, the garden at Passy, the subtle shifts of light and colour that most painters ignored. Born in Bourges in 1841, she trained under Corot and the Barbizon painters before becoming central to Impressionism, showing in seven of the movement's eight exhibitions from 1874 onwards. She was the only woman in that first revolutionary 1874 show.
