イアサント・リゴー

Hyacinthe Rigaud was a French Baroque portrait painter who dominated his field for over six decades, from the 1680s until his death in 1743. Born in Perpignan before it became French territory, he trained under Antoine Ranc in Montpellier and Lyon, where he studied Flemish and Italian masters including Rubens and Rembrandt. Arriving in Paris in 1681, he won the Prix de Rome two years later but declined the Roman scholarship on Charles Le Brun's advice, choosing instead to build his practice in France.
