Tasya van Ree

Tasya van Ree is an American photographer and painter, born in 1976 and raised in Mililani, Hawaii, where she grew up surfing and first picked up a camera in high school. She moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1990s and built a body of work centered on black-and-white portrait photography, drawn to the medium's ability to lend subjects a sense of timelessness and lyrical presence even as her sitters — actors and other public figures — are unmistakably contemporary.
